Grant Guidelines approved 9/11/2020

SHED offers horticultural education grants in support of its mission for programs &/or projects to Pueblo County individuals, small teams (3 to 11 people), State of Colorado non-profit corporations and/or IRS Schedule 501(c)3 organizations.

1. Eligibility

  • Anyone interested in Horticulture education is welcome to apply for a grant. Individuals interested in CMG training are encouraged to apply for scholarships through the CSU extension office.
  • Grants typically range from $25 to $2,000, depending on what activity is being proposed for funding per year.
  • Funds may be requested more than once per calendar year.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

2. Process for review and funding

  • The applicant must complete the Grant Request application on the website and submit it to The application may also be mailed to Pueblo Shed, 701 Court St. Suite C, Pueblo CO 81003.
  • At least three members of SHED will review the application and make a recommendation to the SHED Board.
  • Review of the application and notification of the Board’s decision will require a minimum of 10 days, so submit requests as early as possible. While not mandatory, the SHED board may ask the applicant to meet with a member(s) of the SHED board to discuss the application or if more information is required.
  • Depending on the request and the amount requested, the SHED Board may provide funding upon approval or within two weeks of receipt of expense documentation. All funds are paid by check.

3. Consideration for review of request.

a. The application meets the SHED mission of horticulture education in Pueblo County.

b. The applicant has a plan for sharing information from the project in some way.
